Chartered Physiotherapist required to join our team at Physio Inverness.
Full time or Part time to suit the candidate.
Physio Inverness is a private physiotherapy practice focusing predominantly on musculoskelatal problems and sports injuries. Due to expansion of the clinic we have an excellent opportunity for a physiotherapist to join the practice. The caseload is predominantly musculoskeletal: spinal and peripheral joint problems, and orthopaedics. A high majority of clients are predominantly sports related with the clinic seeing many athletes from local sports teams.
The clinic also provides services to the sportscotland Institute of Sport. Services are delivered to athletes based throughout the Highland and islands. The clinic has also provided services to sportscotland involving travel to the Scottish Islands, Europe and central belt. The clinic provides a service to sportscotland where we attend the strength and conditioning sessions with the athletes every fortnight and work closely with the physical preparation coaches to We also provide regular services for the Highland Rugby Club and the Scottish Rugby Union's Caledonian Squads.
The successful applicant may deliver to a full range of clients which includes recreational, development and elite athletes who may be training for Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic Games. Applicants should have experience of injury assessment and management as well as having a keen interest or experience of athlete performance profiling to identify areas of injury risk. Applicants should be capable of working closely with a wide range of technical coaches, strength and conditioning coaches and other healthcare providers. Through the clinic’s work with sportscotland, opportunities to work with national teams at training camps or competitions and travelling with teams may be available. Covering for local Scottish Premier League Football teams is also occasionally required.
At Physio Inverness we are developing an exciting and innovative service focusing on physical preparation with aligned strength and conditioning coaching. This new service will be designed for local amateur athletes and will involve detailed profiling and biomechanical assessment with formulation of a sport and client specific strength and conditioning programme. The successful applicant will be able to play a key role in the development and delivery of this initiative.
We are also developing a new service for orthopaedic patients which will be a group exercise class and there would be opportunities for the physiotherapist to directly impact on the class content, outcome measures and how we scale this service to client needs and demand.
Applicants should possess a physiotherapy qualification and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Evidence of mentored postgraduate musculoskeletal physiotherapy practice will be required. Practical experience in sports physiotherapy is highly desirable but not essential. A postgraduate qualification in Sports Physiotherapy or similar is desirable but not essential. Whilst being part of a small team, applicants should be confident with independent working and managing their own caseload. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential.
This can be either a full-time or part time salaried post with day-to-day workload based at Inverness Ice Centre.
Salary in the region of £31,000 - £41,000 and negotiable depending on experience.
